Day 7 – Dhūmāvatī: The Wisdom of Emptiness

🔹 Sanskrit Verse

Panchakosamaye vilasitam
Nimranavasu kalankarachitam
Rathyatridevi kakavahanam
Gritagangodhari nageshaswaasam
Bahurekhajwalitha valipalitamukha
bruhatdantah netrarikta
Mailnaswethavastrey smrutirupakeshavi
Tyagabhaktimaye anubhava
MaaDhumavati pretalokadevi
dhairyasheeli Jyeshthashaktirupini

sarvaparigrahabhogatyageem
Muma aahara Drishti nashyati
Oṁ dhūṁ Dhumāvatyai namaḥ.

🔸 Poetic Translation

You ride the crow of finality, Dhūmāvatī,
Wreathed in ash, uncloaked in illusion.
Your face holds the lines of forgotten time,
And your eyes know the truth before desire.
You are memory stripped bare,
The bhikṣu of the void, the matriarch of renunciation.
You are what remains when all is lost—
And thus, all that matters.

✨ Inner Meaning

Dhūmāvatī is the smoke after the fire, the silence after endings. She teaches the freedom of
letting go. In grief, solitude, and old age, she shines her subtle wisdom. She is the wisdom born
of lack, of emptiness, of surrender beyond identity.
